![]() If they are vassals of Cao Cao then shouldn't Cao Cao become the emperor? But the game didn't seem to take this into account, and so Cao Cao immediately - and I think arbitrarily - lost two of his most powerful vassals and allies, essentially removing him from the race even though he seemed to be doing tremendously well. If that's true, then it seems a tad silly, as Liu Bei and Sun Jian were both vassals of Cao Cao, who technically controlled almost a third of the map via his many vassals. Because Liu Bei controlled a large swathe of the map, the game picked him to become Emperor, regardless of the fact that he was still only a Marquis. the Loyalist characters will then have to go about capturing an Emperor's capital and taking his place, as I described above.Īs for the issue in the video of Liu Bei becoming an Emperor even when still a Marquis I think this might be because the game chooses the two largest factions to become rival Emperors - "largest" as in "directly controls the most territories". Instead, (I'm assuming anyway) once they reach the rank of King, 3 AI factions will declare themselves Emperor, thus starting the Three Kingdoms period. ![]() The "Governor" (or "loyalist") characters - Liu Bei, Ma Teng, and Kong Rong - will never be able to declare themselves Emperor, even if they are the first to reach the rank of King. In that event, and because there can only be 3 Emperors at any given time, the player will have to capture the capital of one of the Emperors, forcing him to abdicate and allowing the player to replace him as one of the three Emperors. It's also possibly (but highly unlikely) that three AI factions can become Emperors before the player. ![]() It is possible for an AI faction to declare themselves Emperor before you. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britanniaįrom my understanding when you reach the rank of King you immediately declare yourself Emperor, and the two other largest/most powerful factions on the map will automatically declare themselves as rival Emperors on the same turn.848 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai.
